Upcycled Baby Blankets

I hate hanging on to so much stuff. Especially kid stuff. There’s just so much of it. I loved this set of flannel swaddling blankets my mom gave me when I had my son. They were so modern and earthy looking. He was too big for them after a few months.

I am very aware of not becoming too attached to material possessions. I like to keep my life simple and uncluttered. I decided to turn the old swaddle blankets into wall art as he got older.

This was a super simple and inexpensive way to add some color to white walls.

Wood Embroidery Hoops in a few different sizes

Various fabric scraps or baby clothes, blankets, etc.

Lay out your fabric on the bottom hoop, lay the second piece of the hoop over it and tighten it. Make sure the fabric is pulled tightly. Trim the ends of the fabric.

Note to self:  hang fabric hoops on opposite wall of the bed or small boy will remove the fabric hoops and use them as a hat.
